Caffeine Problems

by YoliFan

Most of us have experienced caffeine symptoms at some point in time. These could range from insomnia to headaches, anxiety attacks and reduced alertness. Caffeine is meant to stimulate the central nervous system. When you drink anything containing caffeine, such as coffee or chocolate, the caffeine makes its way to the blood stream through the stomach and small intestine. In the first six hours, only about half the caffeine is eliminated from the body. The rest of the caffeine remains inside the body for a much longer time. Research shows that more than four cups of coffee a day lead to caffeine addiction. As a result, when regular coffee drinkers go without their shot of java or even a coke, they experience caffeine symptoms. These could range from headaches to plain in the muscles. Although there is no proof of caffeine being connected with cardiovascular disease, excessive intake of coffee has been linked to hypertension. Caffeine addiction comes in next after nicotine and alcohol addiction although the official lethal dose for caffeine is 80 cups of coffee in one sitting. Caffeine stimulates the cortex in your brain that increases your mental activity levels. This makes you temporarily alert and gives you a feeling of being awake and removes all traces of fatigue. However, this phenomenon lasts only for a short while. For those who already suffer from hypertension or anxiety attacks, this increased mental activity can have an extremely unpleasant effect. Heavy intake of caffeine reduces the duration of sleep as well as affects the quality. This is because the nervous system gets so charged up that it interferes with deep, restful sleep. Researchers have also linked osteoporosis in women with caffeine.

Aspartame

by YoliFan

Is aspartame good or bad? Pretty straightforward question in my inbox this morning. Well, aspartame is absolutely appalling! Many people I have known at least say the same thing. You could type it into a search engine and read all the scary information. All artificial sweeteners contain wood alcohol and other chemicals. My friend’s daughter always a had fairly time with her menstruation; but in the past year it began to be terrible. Finally she bled for 6 weeks without stopping and had terrible cramps and miseries. She told her to quit aspartame totally. The daughter did and it all went away. She is back to normal for her. My own experience with aspartame has been one of illness. I can’t touch the stuff. I get migraines if I even chew gum with aspartame in it. I realize that the FDA has approved it, and that it is a billion dollar industry. It makes me wonder, however, how interested the FDA truly is in the public well being, when it approves such poison for our consumption, and blatantly refuses to acknowledge such sweeteners as Stevia which is an herb that has been used for centuries, that which even diabetics can use safely.

Given the fact that you love drinking water, you have to consider how your water is packaged or bottled. Did you know that one disposable bottle of water can last up to seven hundred years? Forty percent of bottled water come from ordinary tap water. So, why would you pay for something you can get for free? If you love the environment and have decided to reuse your disposable bottle of water, you better think twice. The plastic (called polyethylene terephthalate or PET) used in these bottles contains a potentially carcinogenic element. These disposable bottles are safe for one use only. Repeated washing and rinsing can cause the plastic to break down and the carcinogens can reach into the water that you are drinking. So why would you put your health at risk? Caffeine

by YoliFan

For individuals suffering from social anxiety disorder, there are a number of factors that can trigger their anxiety, not all of which are directly related to their core fears about how they are perceived by other in social settings. For example, stress and diet can play key roles in elevating anxiety levels in affected patients, as can certain stimulants. Caffeine, in particular, has been shown to heighten anxiety levels in several studies. Because of that, it is important that patients understand the dangerous relationship between caffeine and social anxiety disorder. The main reason why caffeine and social anxiety are incompatible lies in the nature of the caffeine stimulant effect. Most stimulants, including caffeine, have side effects that include insomnia, excessive nervous behavior, and anxiety. That’s right: anxiety. Obviously, the last thing anyone suffering from social phobia needs is to ingest a substance that incites anxiety in an individual. In addition, caffeine in some forms can inhibit certain minerals and vitamins that your body needs for a properly balanced nervous system and mood regulation. Unfortunately, caffeine is found in many of the more popular drinks and even some medications. Though we often equate caffeine with coffee, the stimulant is also found in many sodas, as well as tea and chocolate. Many weight loss pills and headache remedies also contain caffeine. And while many of those who suffer with social phobia attempt to merely limit their caffeine intake, the incompatibility of caffeine the anxiety disorder has led most experts to conclude that it is best to avoid the substance altogether.
